New Home Building Laws

On 15 January 2015, important changes to home building laws were made that affected all owner builders in NSW.

These changes mainly related to the following:

a change in the monetary threshold for when a contractor is required to hold a licence
a change in the definition of what is a 'major defect'
a change in the maximum deposit that can be requested from an owner builder
a change in the requirements for all home building contracts
